1. Go to
www.facebook.com
2. If you are a member sign in. If you are not yet a member, follow directions from their homepage to create an account
3. Once signed in, in the search bar enter ‘Causes’ to search for the Causes application. Make sure to select the application from the search results
4. From the Causes page, search ‘Tostan’ in their search bar in the top right under the main facebook search bar
5. Select ‘Tostan’ from the search options – On the Tostan cause page, select ‘Join Cause’ found under the main profile picture
6. A confirmation will now appear, confirming your having joined the cause. Once you have joined, start inviting all your friends on facebook to join the cause as well!

2. If you are a member, sign in to your account
a. After you have signed in go to

b. Click on the yellow ‘Subscribe’ button next to the name Tostan
c. Upon clicking ‘Subscribe’, a box will appear right below the header confirming your subscription
3. If you are not a member of You Tube, from the homepage select ‘Create Account’ on the top right of the screen
4. Fill in the necessary information to create your account
5. Enter your email account information
a. If you have a Google account, enter your account information to sign in
b. If you do not have a Google account, enter your current email address and choose a password to create a new account and finish the setup process
c. Confirm your email by going to your email address and responding to the confirmation sent my You Tube
6. Once your account is set up, sign in to You Tube and go to Tostan’s channel at
www.youtube.com/TostanInternational
7. Click the yellow Subscribe button next to Tostan’s name
a. Upon clicking ‘Subscribe’, a box will appear right below the header confirming your subscription

3. If you are not a member, click the green button labeled ‘Join today!’ on the top right of the screen
a. Fill in the necessary information to create your account!
4. Once created, click the button labeled ‘Follow’ located under the picture
5. After clicking, the button should change to say ‘Following’ with a green check
6. You are now following Tostan! Log into Twitter to get all the latest news and updates about our progress empowering communities in Africa

Be our friend on MySpace!
1. Go to
www.myspace.com/tostan
2. If you are a member, click Add to Friends (located in the top bar on the right, above Tostan Community-led Development)
a. If you have not yet signed in, the site will then ask you to do so. Follow the link to sign in
b. Once you have signed in, select the button ‘Add to Friends’ again
3. If you are not a member, follow steps 1 and 2
4. Once you have selected ‘Add to Friends’, follow the link that says ‘Continue’ in order to sign in. This will bring you to the myspace homepage
5. On the homepage, scroll down to find the Log In box. At the top of the box there will be two tabs – ‘Log In’ and ‘Sign Up!’
6. Select the tab that says ‘Sign Up!’
7. You will then be led to a screen to sign up for a myspace account. Enter the required information and click ‘Sign Up’ at the bottom.
8. It will then ask you to enter the text shown in a box in order to verify the account is not being generated automatically. Type what you see into the text box below, and then click ‘Continue’. If you have entered it incorrectly, it will ask you to do this again with another sequence of letters and/or numbers. Once it has been entered correctly, it will proceed
9. MySpace will now ask if you want them to import contacts from your email address. If you would like to do this, select the button ‘Find Friends’. If not, select ‘skip this step’
10. An email will then be sent to the email address you entered. In order to verify your account, log in to your email and click the confirmation link in the email. Once you have done this, your sign up is complete!
11. Now, go to
www.myspace.com/tostan
and select ‘Add to Friends’ on the top right!

b. Add Tostan in your friends by clicking on 'Add as a contact'
