The Tostan International Operations Specialist works under the Director of Operations to help manage the tracking of key deliverables by each operational department. This position will also help in translating new strategies into position papers and detailed action plans. While the majority of his/her time will be spent in the office, he/she will potentially be asked to travel to some of the various National Offices to help assess progress on specific action plans. Currently, Tostan has National Offices in Guinea, Gambia, Mauritania, Somalia, Djibouti, and beginning in April Guinea Bissau.

Responsibilities include:
- Attend and keep minutes from weekly meeting with the Finance, Logistics, HR, Technology, Volunteer, and Monitoring and Evaluation teams
- Following-up on any unresolved issues raised by the employees or volunteers e.g repairs to the facilities are completed by logistics team, supplies are purchased, etc.

Update Policies and Procedures Manual when necessary

Create an organizational calendar of key dates such as retreats, major activities, holidays, etc.

Work on Tostan International Budgets and Priorities

Help maintain organized files for various departments, especially HR

Help create and/or translate certain communications to Tostan team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business preferred
-
Outstanding communication and organizational skills
-
Ability to multitask, work independently and be flexible in a fast-paced multicultural environment

French written at an intermediate high or advanced level (i.e. 3 years of college level French or in-country equivalent)

Knowledge of Google Applications and other Internet programs

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Experience with Budgeting, QuickBooks, HR policies a plus
